Individual Stableford

For an AWL round to count, there must be an e-mail to all of time, and sent out the day before playing to allow for anyone else who wishes to play to join. Notification last thing in the evening of a tee time first thing next day is not sufficient notice.

Full AWL handicap (subject to adjustments), playing off white tees, with gimmies offered by other players/opponents at their discretion.  Note: guideline is less than measure to putter handle.

Mean of best four Stableford scores to count

HC adjustments for exceptional scoring:
Scores of 38 or 39                 One shot deduction from HC
Scores of 40 or more            Two shot deduction from HC
This is to try and keep more players in contention for a top four place at the end of the season

If holes are closed, a minimum of 16 holes must be played to be qualifying. When 14A & 14B are in play, 14A is a par 4 (still index 8) and 14B has the same index as the hole it replaces (e.g. hole 11 out of play would mean index 10 for 14B). If additional holes are out of play, you get 2 Stableford points for them – maximum of two holes out of play.

Minimum of nine rounds to be played between Sunday 26^th October 2025 and Sunday 22^nd February 2026 inclusive. Finals Day is Saturday 28^th February 2026.

A maximum of two scores may be submitted per week to the Premier League (a ‘week’ is defined as running from Saturday to Friday inclusive). If playing 2 qualifying rounds in a week, at least one must be on a weekend. It will be assumed it is a qualifying round unless it is nominated before tee off verbally to all other players.

There must be a minimum of one other AWL member playing with you. You must follow standard golf/club rules – for example, start at hole number 1 or 11 and play sequentially from there.

Playoff between top four for the coveted title of AWL Premier League Champion. Stableford off AWL handicap. If equal after 18, winner is decided on countback

One person from each match to WhatsApp Scores with scores and results of any matches. Please don't report NQ. Don't need to say on which hole you made 2.

You may submit a maximum of two scores each ‘week’ for the league, but otherwise you can play as many times as you like.

If you play an HGC competition (except for club Stableford roll ups) you may not enter it as an AWL score

Temporary tees and greens allowable but 1 Stableford point reduction for each of 3 temporaries (1 for 1 to 3 temps, 2 for 4 to 6 temps, etc.). 

Matchplay: 90% of each player’s AWL handicap (rounded up) and then it’s the full difference between the 2 figures.

Match scores can also be submitted for League if agreed between players

Gross scores on each hole to be recorded

Any blob (under Stableford scoring) will count as an 8 irrespective of the score recorded

Final league table will be based on AWL handicap at the end of the season

Published dates subject to change if HGC significantly reserve tee times for club competitions on any of these dates

AWL H/C is winter course handicap at beginning of AWL season (subject to maximum of 24).  Adjustments will then be made for any 38, 39, 40 or above rounds as explained in League competition previously. 

Winner of League, Knockout Cup, Net Eclectic to be deducted 2 strokes for the following season. Plate winner to be given one shot back!

The three runners up in the Premier League Playoff Final, the losing finalists in the Knockout Cup and Plate and the runner up in the Net Eclectic to be deducted 1 stroke for the following season

Winners of individual one-off trophies will not receive stroke reductions the following season
